 WRAPPING PAPER PINWHEELS

 

Materials: two colors of wrapping paper that compliment each other, 1/8" hole

punch, 2 beads,wooden dowel, 2 inch nail w/ head, hammer, manilla folder, spray mount glue, exacto knife, pinwheel template copied to the desired size, glue

  1. cut folder in two

  2. glue first paper pattern to one side of each folder half. Glue the other pattern of wrapping paper to the flip side of the two folder pieces.

  3. trace the template on the same pattern side of each folder. Cut out with exacto knife

  4. punch a hole in each designated spot (see template)

  5. Place a small amount of glue on the round part of the pinwheel & place the 2nd one on top with the same pattern facing up. Rotate the pinwheels intertwining the arms until the top piece forms a diamond shape.

  6. trace & then cut out a quarter sized circle from a scrap of the paper covered folder. Punch a hole in the center of it.

  7. Place the round paper circle on a nail and move it down to the head. Then place a bead onto the nail. Take the pinwheel and fold in each arm lining up the holes with the center hole. Place all on nail. Then place the 2nd bead onto the nail.

  8. Gently hammer the nail onto the end of the dowel, about an 1 1/2" from the top edge.
